Direct upload
Web /jobs/new form
Direct upload is the built-in web form inside dojobase where a team member picks files off their computer and starts a job by hand. It is the fastest way for your own staff to run a workflow on a document that just landed on their desk.
How it works
When someone on your team opens the new-job screen, they see a plain upload box. They choose one or more files, click go, and the workflow you built runs on those files start to finish. Nothing to install, no address to remember: it is the same as attaching a file to an email, but it kicks off your whole process.
This is the trigger you reach for when a person is already looking at the document and just wants it handled now. A bookkeeper who receives a statement, an office manager holding a stack of scanned forms, a partner reviewing an application: they drop it in and the rest happens on its own.
It lives behind your login, so only people you have invited can use it. That makes it the right choice for internal, ad-hoc runs, as opposed to a public link you would hand to customers.
Common use cases
Real situations where this node earns its place in a flow.
Branded applicant intake
Give applicants a web form to upload their documents and details in one place, styled as your brand rather than a generic uploader.
Skip email entirely
For customers who would rather fill in a form than dig up an address to email, this is the front door to a job.
Collect a file plus context
Gather a document and a few fields (name, reason, amount) together so the workflow starts with everything it needs.
Direct upload in a workflow
A simple example of where this node sits in a flow.
What you set up
- Decide which workflow the uploaded files should run through.
- Choose whether people can add one file at a time or a batch at once.
- Confirm who on your team is allowed to start jobs (they need a login).
Common questions
Can customers upload here, or only my staff?
Only people you have invited to your dojobase workspace. For a form customers can use themselves, use the Hosted Form node instead.
Can someone upload several files in one job?
Yes. You can allow a whole batch to go in together, and the workflow treats them as one job.
Settings you configure on this node, stored under data.config in the workflow JSON. Leave a field unset to use its default.
This node has no configurable settings. Drop it into a flow and it works from its inputs alone.
How this node appears inside a workflow's nodes[] array (the shape you see in the Developer export / import). A full workflow is { nodes: [...], edges: [...] }.
